Stop funding and being complicit with ICE
To: Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted
From: A verified voter in Brecksville, OH
January 29
I am an Ohio resident, a voter, and someone who is active in my community.
The people of Ohio sent you to represent them. And the people of this state are screaming that we do not want ICE in our cities, our towns, or our neighborhoods. This is no longer about party ideology or abstract debates about immigration reform. This is about what is happening right now, in real time, to real people.
American citizens are being brutalized in the streets by our own federal government. If you vote for an appropriations bill that continues to fund ICE, you are complicit in every consequence that follows. Every child taken. Every constitutional violation. Every drop of blood spilled as a result of ICE actions will be tied to that vote.
You have come this far, but every step further down the path of fascism is a conscious choice. Independent of every decision you have made before. A vote in favor of this funding is a vote to hand unbridled power to this administration. It is a vote to condone the terrorization of American cities. We are no different than our brothers and sisters in Minnesota.
A vote to further fund ICE is a choice to bend the knee with it pressed on the necks of the people you swore to represent.
Choose wisely. Your constituents are watching.
