The report concludes Israel has committed genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza through widespread killings, harm, and inflicting conditions calculated to destroy the Palestinian population. This systematic destruction has resulted in over 34,000 Palestinian deaths, including 14,000 children, displacement of 75% of Gaza's population, acute starvation from Israel's complete blockade, and demolition of housing, universities, hospitals and infrastructure. These findings indicate Israel is violating the Genocide Convention's prohibition on acts intended to destroy a protected group. To prevent further loss of life and suffering, immediate international intervention is imperative. The global community must enforce compliance with International Court of Justice orders for Israel to cease its military offensive and lift the Gaza siege. All states have a legal duty under the Genocide Convention to take action to stop and prevent genocide, including through sanctions, withholding aid enabling these crimes, and prosecution of Israeli leadership. Only by holding perpetrators accountable and allowing humanitarian aid can the genocide in Gaza be halted and Palestinians' right to exist be secured.
