Prohibiting corporate money in elections

To: Gov. Whitmer, Sen. Albert, Rep. Frisbie

From: A constituent in Battle Creek, MI

November 24

I would like to propose that Michigan put an initiative on our state ballot for 2026 stopping corporations from using their money to fund political campaigns, in essence voiding the Citizens United which treats corporations as individuals. Montana is trying to place an initiative on their 2026 ballot that stops corporations from pouring money into political campaigns and I would like to see every state do the same, making Citizens United irrelevant. The amount of money spent on political campaigns is obscene and is a major reason our country is in the predicament is today with a tyrant as president.
