No Deal! Stop Special Tax Immunity for the President

To: Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno, Rep. Beatty

From: A verified voter in Columbus, OH

June 8

Everyday Americans follow the rules. We pay our fair share of taxes, and we submit to IRS audits when called upon. We are a nation of laws here, and nobody is above the law. Yet, a dangerous new precedent is being set behind closed doors, a deal that grants the President, his family, and his business empire complete immunity from the very rules the rest of us live by. The Department of Justice has quietly executed a sham settlement that grants the President permanent immunity from IRS audits for his past filings. This isn't just a procedural hiccup; it is a coordinated effort from the DOJ to permanently shield his finances from scrutiny and wipe away a staggering $100 million unpaid tax obligation stemming from real estate write-off abuse. The mechanics of this deal reveal just how broken the process is. The President essentially sued his own administration over leaked tax returns, only for his own DOJ to hand him a permanent tax "Super Pardon" just to drop the lawsuit. It is a completely collusive, circular deal designed to bypass the court system—it was never even reviewed or approved by a federal judge. The Department of Justice exists to uphold the law, not to serve as a private shield for a President’s personal financial liabilities. If a regular citizen tried to manufacture a bogus lawsuit to evade a tax audit, they would face swift penalties. Instead, our system of checks and balances is being actively dismantled to ensure the head of the executive branch never has to answer for his debts to the public. We cannot afford to look the other way while a two-tiered justice system is codified into law. To restore basic accountability, Congress must use its power of the purse and legislative oversight to tear this deal apart. As my representative, I urge you to take immediate action: - Kill the Immunity Clause: Vote for any and all legislative amendments to upcoming agency funding bills that strip away or defund this corrupt tax immunity framework. - Support the BLANCHE Act: Co-sponsor and vote for Rep. Jamie Raskin’s Block Lawless Agreements and Nullify Corrupt Handouts and Emoluments (BLANCHE) Act to permanently prohibit the use of collusive settlements to shield a sitting president from IRS accountability. No special deals. No tax immunity. Demand an end to executive abuse of power now.
