No tax breaks

To: Rep. Johnson

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

May 18

No Medicaid cuts, no cuts to SNAP, no additional funding to ICE or for a “golden dome.” Instead of tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations, let’s pass legislations that taxes everyone at fair rates. Hegseth needs to resign. From the debacle of his Signal chats because it wasn’t just one, to his push to remove competent leaders in the military, he is dangerous and dangerously incompetent. Bring back the funding for NWS staff. They save lives. Bring back the funding for our national parks. They bring in more money than they cost. Ensure libraries are funded. They provide free access to information and improve local communities. Due process, due process, due process, I can’t say it loud enough. And everyone must follow the law, which means the administration should not simply respect court rulings, they must also adhere to them too and they aren’t. How about we focus on ensuring free and fair elections, defending civil liberties like protecting people’s right to vote and stopping voter suppression, instead of looking for voter fraud where it doesn’t exist? The Library of Congress should belong to Congress. It’s meant to provide non-partisan congressional research services. It shouldn’t be under the control of the executive branch.
