Co-Sponsor S.4537 and End Draft Registration for Good

To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Davidson, Sen. Husted

Co-sponsor the Selective Service Repeal Act, S.4537, and vote to end draft registration entirely. Congress just replaced self-registration with an automatic system that gives the Selective Service sweeping access to records across every Federal agency — that's not reform, it's an expansion of a program that the former SSS Director himself admitted would be "less than useless" for an actual draft. We're spending taxpayer money on a broken database to plan for wars we shouldn't be fighting. The government stopped enforcing registration law in 1988. The SSS has been a zombie program ever since. Automatic registration makes it worse by creating new burdens and real dangers for transgender, non-binary, and immigrant youth. S.4537 would end this, and it would restore eligibility for government jobs, naturalized citizenship, and Federal programs to men who never registered. This bill has been introduced every Congress since 2019 and has never received a single hearing. That needs to change now.
