Oppose H.R. 7050 – Weakens Consumer Protections
To: Rep. Jayapal
From: A verified voter in Seattle, WA
February 7
I urge you to oppose H.R. 7050, the Homeopathic Drug Product Safety, Quality, and Transparency Act.
This bill primarily benefits grifters and large supplement manufacturers by carving out a special regulatory pathway for products that lack credible evidence of efficacy. It risks legitimizing placebo products as “medicine,” weakening ill FDA authority and consumer protections that exist to prevent fraud and harm.
Americans deserve science-based regulation, clear labeling, and proof of safety and effectiveness—especially when products are marketed for health conditions. H.R. 7050 moves in the opposite direction by lowering standards, increasing consumer confusion, and shifting risk onto patients while protecting industry profits.
Please oppose H.R. 7050 and support evidence-based public health policy.
