Vote No on HR 1526 - The No Rogue Rulings Act

To: Rep. Fedorchak, Sen. Cramer, Sen. Hoeven

From: A constituent in Horace, ND

April 5

This bill would severely restrict the authority of federal district courts to issue injunctions, limiting their ability to provide checks and balances on unlawful actions by the executive branch. While promoting the rule of law and constitutional separation of powers are laudable goals, unduly constraining judicial review risks enabling abuse of power and undermining essential constitutional protections. Federal courts serve a vital role in ensuring government accountability and safeguarding individual rights. Stripping their authority to issue injunctive relief against potentially unlawful policies or actions, except in narrow circumstances, tilts the balance of powers excessively in favor of the executive. This threatens our system of checks and balances designed to prevent any single branch from accumulating unchecked power. I urge you to maintain judicial independence and reject efforts to improperly insulate executive actions from scrutiny. Protecting robust judicial review strengthens rather than weakens democracy and the rule of law.
