Please Support Medicaid
The U.S. House of Representatives is voting this week on a budget bill designed to provide tax cuts that benefit the top 1% while harming the bottom 40%.
The House Budget Committee has asked to find $880
Billion in budget cuts with Medicaid as the primary target. If Congress cuts Medicaid, states will not have the federal funds needed to pay for the services that ensure essential medical care and community supports for over 72 million Americans.
Here are some reasons why you should vote no.
• By cutting Medicaid, states will not have the required funds for services that ensure essential medical care and community supports for over 72 million Americans.
• A cut to Medicaid is a cut to Medicare. The programs work together to provide the services and supports people need. Our Elders and children will be affected.
• The outcome from any cut is the same: older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers would lose access to needed health and long-term care.
• Lastly, only the top 1% of American earners will benefit from these cuts while serious and lasting harm will happen to the lower 40% of American earners. Please care about the 40% and VOTE NO!
Please vote NO on any Medicaid cuts. Protection of vital healthcare and support services for 72 million Americans is more important than tax cuts for the top 1% of our nation's population.
