We should have been at COP30

To: Rep. Houlahan, Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Reading, PA

November 23

Why has the United States neglected to participate in the COP30 talks? Do we feel so privileged that we are exempt from the effects of climate change? Do we feel so special that we don’t have to take responsibility for the enormous amount that we are contributing to the problem? Do we feel entitled to our huge gas guzzling trucks and our enormous oil heated homes? There is a solution in solar and wind and electric automobiles but we are lagging behind. Where is the community solar? I’ve been talking about this since the 1970s and we still haven’t made progress, in fact we are losing ground. Who will stand up to the fossil fuel industry?
