Reinstate Medical-Humanitarian Visas Immediately

To: Rep. Landsman, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A verified voter in Cincinnati, OH

August 17

HEAL Palestine has been working tremendously hard and heroically to save the lives of injured Palestinian civilians, including many children, by bringing them to the US for medical care. As an Ohio resident I am proud of this Ohio-based non-profit organization. They are filling a gap in providing the type of support that our government should be providing but isn't across all levels. Their work has been jeopardized by one single person who has no authority, was never elected, and clearly has no empathy for others. Because Laura Loomer is afraid of people that don't look like her, and because she has the ear of the US President, the State Department has halted medical-humanitarian visas to review their process. This is such a a shameful act. Out of the hundreds of thousands of innocent lives affected by the war in Gaza, HEAL Palestine has managed to evacuate 148 people including 63 children, and place them in medical care in cities across the nation. It should not scare us that they are now here in the US, it should upset us that is all we've managed help in any meaningful way. Do not give in to this bigotry. Do your part to stand up for a visa process that is desperately needed. Lives that we as a government are actively making harder deserve this one avenue for care and chance at survival.
