I am writing as a concerned constituent to express my strong opposition to Senator Ron Johnson’s proposed resolution. This measure—like too many others he has supported—would harm everyday Wisconsinites by undermining essential supports that help families stay healthy, housed, and fed.
At a time when food insecurity continues to rise across our state, we should be expanding—not restricting—programs that help people put meals on the table. Access to affordable, nutritious food is not a political issue; it is a matter of basic human dignity and public health. I urge you to stand firmly against any policy that worsens hunger in our communities.
Likewise, I call on you to support strengthening tax credits and subsidies under the Affordable Care Act. These measures are lifelines for working families, seniors, and young adults who might otherwise go without medical care. Every Wisconsinite deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing they can see a doctor or afford a prescription.
Frankly, I have to ask: where is the humanity in policies that prioritize ideology over people’s lives? Our elected leaders should reflect compassion, responsibility, and fairness—not indifference to the suffering of those most in need.
Please do everything in your power to reject Senator Johnson’s harmful resolution and instead focus on solutions that promote food security, affordable health care, and the well-being of every person in Wisconsin.
Thank you for your time and your service to our state. I hope I can count on you to lead with empathy and integrity.
