An Open Letter

To: Sen. Merkley, Rep. Dexter, Sen. Wyden

From: A verified voter in Portland, OR

July 24

For the sake of your queer constituents, please pass the Fair Access To Banking Act. Payment card proccessors are forcing queer artists deeper into the shadows of the internet by the day. They cannot make a living. Legal adult content is being quietly removed from all manner of platforms, and queer art is always targeted first and most. And even art that is otherwise unobjectionable is often determined to be "adult" if it contains queer themes. This cannot continue. It is censorship by default, by private companies who have no business making these choices. Please pass the Fair Access To Banking Act and allow people to make their own purchasing choices without the card companies' hand on the scale.
