An Open Letter

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

DHS/ICE Funding. This funding proposal will come before the Senate soon. I expect that you do NOT support continued funding until some guardrails are enacted. Violations of persons constitutional rights must be respected, no exceptions. ICE agents do not enjoy absolute legal immunity and this probably needs to be reiterated in the spending bills. DHS/ICE personnel must display identification in a prominent place on their person. DHS/ICE personnel must NOT wear face coverings for routine work, no exceptions. The ‘concern’ that agents are being doxed might NOT be a concern if they didn’t tackle citizens, beat them and take them into custody. This situation is created by their actions. I’ve emailed multiple times on the subject of constitutional rights, MY rights if masked personnel attempt a kidnapping ~ and you have never answered. This is the time to response to both my expectations to insist government persons act with professionalism and to know if you support a person to have constitutional rights. I expect an answer – I’m paying your salary along with that of the staffer reading this email.
