Vote No on HR 2616 — The "Don't Say Trans" Bill Harms Kids

Vote no on HR 2616, the so-called "Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act." This bill passed the House 217 to 198 and now heads to the Senate, where it must be stopped. It would force schools to out trans kids to their parents before using a student's preferred name or pronouns — regardless of whether that home is safe. That's not parental rights. That's government-mandated exposure of vulnerable children. For the party that claims to oppose federal overreach, there is a striking fixation on the identities of individual children nationwide. This bill prohibits teaching "gender ideology" as defined by a presidential executive order, which in practice means stripping books and history from classrooms. It's also a direct on-ramp to HR 7661, the national book ban bill. The same administration gutting the Department of Education is now dictating what kids can be called and what teachers can say. Trans kids exist. They are in these schools right now. This bill doesn't protect them — it erases them. Vote no.
