I previously reached out requesting my congress members to reconsider the confirmation of RFK Jr. as he is not qualified for his job as US Health Secretary. This has been further indicated with his remarks about autistic individuals. He does not have even a base understanding of autism or that it is a spectrum. There are plenty of autistic people who have jobs, careers even, are parents, teachers, clergy, farmers, and business owners. The list goes on, and, per his concern, they pay taxes. His concerns about their ability to use the restroom unassisted is part of the spectrum bit. His blanket statements are harmful, hurtful and wrong. These are beautiful productive people. Most possess more empathy and concern for their environment and fellow humans than this current administration could ever fathom, given its track record. There have been numerous studies, peer reviewed research, and books written on the topic of autism. We know more about autism than we ever have before in human history. We don't have an epidemic, we have more knowledge and understanding. This makes it easier to diagnose and accommodate. Why is it so difficult to listen to experts? This is just one of my concerns with our current administration. I am deeply disappointed with the state of our country. We are losing credibility with the rest of the world, we are losing allies, and we are losing our country. It's not too late for you to change your stance and demand better for the people of Mississippi and the people of the United States. Not only do you have an opportunity to change, but you also have a responsibility to uphold your oath to the Constitution and to the people.
