Your Response on Gaza Whitewashes Atrocities
To: Sen. McCormick
From: A constituent in Quakertown, PA
August 8
Thank you for your response. While I appreciate you taking the time to reply, your letter reads more like a press release from the Israeli government than a message from a U.S. Senator committed to human rights.
You describe the horrific events of October 7 — and I unequivocally condemn those attacks. But you fail to mention the far greater toll that followed. Since then, over 37,000 Palestinians — mostly civilians — have been killed. Entire neighborhoods in Gaza have been erased. Hospitals and schools bombed. Aid convoys attacked. Children starved. These are not unfortunate byproducts of war — they are the predictable outcomes of a campaign waged with impunity.
You speak of Israel taking “the most humanitarian path possible.” Is bombing refugee camps humanitarian? Is denying food and water to 2 million people humanitarian? Is targeting aid workers and blocking supplies humanitarian?
You repeat the claim that Hamas steals aid — yet multiple humanitarian agencies, including UNRWA and World Central Kitchen, have pushed back on that narrative. Meanwhile, Israeli forces have blocked and attacked humanitarian convoys, even killing aid workers. You remain silent on this.
Your unwavering support for Israel’s military campaign — while ignoring its war crimes, apartheid policies, and decades of occupation — places you on the wrong side of justice. Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and even Israeli and Jewish voices around the world have condemned these actions. Why don’t you?
American taxpayers are funding this destruction. If you truly care about hostages, peace, or democracy, then stop enabling mass killing and collective punishment. Demand accountability. Call for a ceasefire. Support the international law you were elected to uphold.
History will remember those who looked away. I hope you’ll reconsider your stance — not as a politician, but as a human being.
