TO: United States Congress RE: Request for Immediate Action - Creation of a State-Level Humanitarian Security Department for Homeless Veterans Oversight Requested By: Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for Logistics Dear Members of Congress, I am writing to propose an urgent humanitarian solution for an issue that should never exist in this country: homeless veterans living on our streets. The Problem: We have veterans who served this country now living on our streets. Many are mentally and emotionally devastated from their service and need our help. Many do not know how to apply for assistance, do not know what they qualify for, or do not have the ability to navigate the system on their own. We should never have homeless veterans on our streets. We served them, and now we need to serve them. The Solution: I propose that each state create a separate, dedicated department of Humanitarian Security Officers to work directly in the field, on our streets. This would not be traditional law enforcement. This would be humanitarian aid and assistance. The duties of these officers would be to: Patrol and proactively stop and talk to homeless individuals, with a priority on homeless veterans. Assess their immediate needs and create a personalized plan to get them off the streets. Connect them directly to the proper care they need and help them apply for benefits and housing they may qualify for through the VA and other agencies. Distribute donated necessities in the field, including food, clothes, coats, and other essentials, until our states and streets are cleaned up and no one needs help. This department will give them a hand up, not just a handout, and ensure no veteran falls through the cracks because of paperwork. Logistics and Enforcement: I respectfully request that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) handle the logistics and oversight for this program to ensure it is efficient, accountable, and effective across all states. If you agree this is a necessary and just idea, I ask that you enforce it immediately. Our veterans cannot wait. Thank you for your time and for your service to our country and to those who served it. Y’all are doing such amazing work and service; I’m sorry are system is so broken but we are healing it <3 . Respectfully submitted, me and Meta Ai
