End the Iran War Now — It's Draining Our Wallets and Our Military

End the Iran war. The Congressional Budget Office — a nonpartisan agency — just released a report finding this war is responsible for more than a third of all inflation this year. Gas is up 45% to $4.32 a gallon. Diesel has hit a record $6.26, up 66%, driving up the cost of everything that moves by truck. Mortgage rates have climbed past 7.22%, up from under 6% before the war started. This is not an abstraction — it's hundreds of dollars a month out of real people's pockets.
The military cost is just as alarming. The war has already cost $38 billion as of August 1, the Pentagon can't account for damage to hundreds of U.S. bases, and the CBO estimates it will take five years to replace expended munitions. Replacing missile defense interceptors alone will cost $13.1 billion. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is right: this is a one-two punch hitting American families and American military readiness at the same time. Push to end this war now.
