I need you to oppose Trump's military actions in Iran and work to prevent further escalation. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has collapsed global trade and devastated economies worldwide while leaving the US largely unscathed.
The numbers are staggering. Traffic through Hormuz has dropped 90%, with 80% of that oil destined for Asia. Korea imports 80% of its energy, Japan 90%. The Philippines cut its government workweek to four days. Bangladesh closed universities and rationed fuel. Nepal rationed gas. India redirected LNG from industry to households just to keep people warm. European stocks fell 11% while the US S&P 500 lost only 5% because we produce our own energy.
This isn't just about fuel. Seventy percent of Brazil's urea imports come through Hormuz. Gulf nations import over 90% of their corn and soybeans through the strait. The World Trade Organization projects European exports will shrink 0.6% instead of growing, while North American growth actually increases. We're exporting chaos and profiting from it.
Trump's justifications contradict themselves. He claims Iran presents an imminent nuclear threat after saying he obliterated its nuclear program. This aggression serves no American interest beyond satisfying a political base that views the rest of the world with contempt. Stop this before the damage becomes irreversible.
