Support the Abolish Super PACs Act

To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla, Rep. Garcia

From: A constituent in Long Beach, CA

May 21

I am writing to strongly urge you to support and co-sponsor the Abolish Super PACs Act, introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Summer Lee. Our democracy should operate on the principle of "one person, one vote." Unfortunately, our current campaign finance system allows a tiny group of billionaires, special interest groups, and corporations to use Super PACs to drown out the voices of everyday working Americans. Millions of dollars are poured into our elections to buy political influence, shifting the focus away from policy that actually benefits ordinary citizens. The Abolish Super PACs Act offers a straightforward remedy by placing a $5,000 cap on individual contributions to independent expenditure-only political committees. This reform is a vital step toward neutralizing unlimited dark money and moving toward a system that values people over corporate profits. California should lead the fight for fair elections and democratic integrity. I urge you to stand up for regular voters, add your name as a co-sponsor to this legislation, and champion campaign finance reform on the floor. Thank you for your time and leadership.
