You must find a way to stop the expansion of ICE detention centers and close down the existing ones. The detention centers are filthy and horrifying! This is a national disgrace! There are widespread reports of spoiled and inadequate food, tainted water and poor or nonexistent medical care. I have seen reports that people are crammed into spaces not meant to hold them and are given diapers rather than toilet facilities. This is shocking! And these people haven’t even committed crimes! There are also reports of young girls who are pregnant, many as a result of rape and as young as 13, being transferred to a facility in Texas where there is inadequate medical care and additionally they have no access to abortion care because of that state’s draconian anti woman laws. 13 year old girls are not developmentally ready to go through pregnancy and birth. It’s not safe and it’s inhumane! These centers are being run by private corporations for profit. During the recent cold weather in Texas, they refused to turn on the heat! People are dying in these places and we don’t even know who or how many! This must be stopped!
