I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill.” This bill, despite its name, does real harm to the people you represent.
Cutting Medicaid is not just a policy choice — it’s a direct attack on millions of Americans who rely on it for basic health care. These cuts will not only hurt low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities — they’ll strain our hospitals, drive up emergency room costs, and make communities sicker and less secure. We all pay the price when access to care is taken away.
At the same time, this bill would funnel more funding into ICE, an agency that is already operating with little oversight. ICE has a documented record of detaining people without due process, separating families, and operating in ways that violate the constitutional rights we all expect and deserve. Giving more money to an agency that abducts people from their homes and communities without accountability is not the direction we should be moving as a country.
This bill represents a betrayal of our values — justice, compassion, and the basic promise that the government exists to serve all of us. I urge you to oppose this legislation and stand with the people who will be most impacted by its cruelty and overreach.
Thank you for your time, and I’ll be watching closely to see how you vote on this issue.
