SAY NO TO THE SAVE ACT (H.R. 22, S. 128)!

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Meuser, Sen. McCormick

From: A verified voter in Wapwallopen, PA

April 10

I am urging you to vote NO on the SAVE Act, H.R. 22, S. 128. This bill, which disguises itself as one protecting the integrity of American elections, would disenfranchise millions of U.S. citizens who either cannot procure a passport or original birth certificate, or who have undergone name changes since obtaining these documents. For those in low-income communities in particular, securing or updating these documents is time-consuming and costly. Married women and adopted individuals are also at high risk of disenfranchisement due to their existing documents not reflecting their current names. This legislation would turn back the clock on the right to vote for groups for which the right to franchise has historically been attacked. Again, I urge you to vote NO on the SAVE Act, H.R. 22, S. 128, due to its deleterious impact on the right to franchise in the United States.
