Protect endangered species and preserve our ecosystem

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Scanlon, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Wayne, PA

July 20

Please oppose efforts to weaken the Endangered Species Act by removing automatic protections for threatened species and narrowing protections for their habitat. Waiting to protect wildlife until species are closer to extinction is a costly and risky approach. Healthy ecosystems support clean water, agriculture, fisheries, outdoor recreation, and local economies. Once species and habitats are lost, recovery is often far more expensive—or impossible. Please support legislation and oversight that preserves strong, science-based protections for threatened species and the habitats they depend on. Conservation and responsible economic development can coexist, but weakening safeguards for imperiled wildlife puts our natural heritage and future generations at unnecessary risk.
