I am writing as your constituent to urge you to vote against any Department of Homeland Security funding bill that includes funding for ICE, and to encourage your Senate colleagues to do the same.
The facts are clear:
ICE has been involved in at least 30 shootings since January 20, 2025, resulting in 8 deaths
Two U.S. citizens, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, were killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis this month
A clear majority of Americans oppose current ICE operations, with 61% saying tactics have "gone too far" (NY Times/Siena, January 17)
I trust that you will vote against DHS funding that enables this violence. I am also asking you to use your leadership position to persuade your colleagues—particularly those who may be uncertain—to join you in opposing this funding.
The January 30th deadline is approaching. Washington state needs our senators to stand firm and to bring others along with them.
Thank you for your service and your principled opposition to funding agencies that are killing American citizens.
