Say No to School Voucher Program. The school voucher program is a fiscally irresponsible program that will only serve the wealthy in Tennessee. The data supports the fact that most parents who apply for voucher were already planning to send their children to private schools. There is research (Milwaukee for one example) that vouchers do not improve educational outcomes. Public schools welcome ALL students, including those from already underserved communities, those with learning disabilities, and those with physical disabilities. Education should remain a public institution, that is the real choice for the parents and the students. The flowery language in this proposal does not fool me. This is not about parents choosing education for their students but the government choosing which students receive an education. Please say no to school vouchers.
