Stop the Attacks on Federal Employees and Respect the Rule of Law

October 27
I am writing to express my outrage over this administration’s continued assault on federal agencies, federal employees, and the fundamental rights of American workers. The latest developments at the Bureau of Prisons are yet another example of an administration determined to undermine legal protections when they stand in its way.
According to Government Executive, the Bureau of Prisons is once again pursuing the termination of union contracts after a federal judge ordered them reinstated. The agency previously attempted to terminate those contracts again in violation of the court’s injunction. Now, rather than respecting the legal process, the agency is seeking another way to accomplish the same objective.
This is unacceptable. Court orders are not optional suggestions. The rule of law must apply to everyone, including agency directors, presidential appointees, and the highest levels of this administration.
Russell Vought, Scott Capoor, and the officials responsible for these attacks on the federal workforce must be held accountable. Federal employees dedicate their careers to serving the American public. They deserve fair treatment, meaningful workplace protections, and leadership that follows the law rather than continually searching for ways around it.
The repeated attacks on collective bargaining, the erosion of employee protections, and the apparent willingness to circumvent judicial authority are deeply troubling. This is not responsible government. It undermines public trust, damages morale, and threatens the integrity of the institutions Americans depend on.
We are tired of the corruption concerns, the lack of accountability, and the apparent belief that those in power can ignore the rules governing everyone else. Taxpayer money should not be wasted fighting to strip workers of their rights while treating court rulings as obstacles to overcome.
I urge you to demand meaningful congressional oversight, insist on compliance with federal court orders, and hold administration officials accountable for their actions. Congress must defend the independence of the judiciary, protect federal employees’ lawful rights, and ensure executive power is not abused to dismantle worker protections.
The American people deserve a government that respects the law, not one that continually tests how far it can go without consequences.
