Please vote in favor of supporting HB 2540, with the goal of increasing the savings cap disabled constituents fall under, as well as removing the marriage penalty, which forces disabled people to lose their only source of income in the event they marry. As more of your constituents find themselves disabled, whether it be from the most recent pandemic, or any of the other myriad reasons, the current limit of $2000.00 is effectively a tax on existing while poor. Supporting this bill will ultimately end up saving the public money, and provide a better safety net for the voting populace.
