Stop the Cruelty. Feed Americans who receive SNAP or Work for the Government
To: Rep. Messmer, Sen. Young, Sen. Banks
From: A verified voter in Mount Vernon, IN
November 4
I am writing in outrage after the president’s public declaration that he will not follow court orders and withhold food assistance until Democrats “open up the government.”
This is not leadership. It is cruelty and hostage-taking against our own American people.
Millions of Americans—working families, seniors, veterans, and children—depend on SNAP to eat.
Federal judges have ordered these funds released, and defying those orders to score political points is both unlawful and immoral and morally bankrupt.
No president, current or former, has the right to starve Americans into submission.
The power of our government should be used to feed the hungry, not punish them. If anyone in office supports or remains silent about this, they are complicit.
We deserve leaders who govern and make policies with integrity, not bullies who treat food as leverage.
I urge Congress to act immediately to protect SNAP funding, enforce judicial orders, and ensure no administration can weaponize hunger against its own citizens again.
Enough of the cruelty. Enough of the propaganda. Do your job. Feed the people.
