Oppose Strikes to Venezuelan Boats

To: Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff, Rep. Liccardo

From: A constituent in Palo Alto, CA

December 2

I am requesting you to support the legislation in Congress denouncing the unauthorized use of Military involvement in hostilities with Venezuela. I fear US military personnel are being placed in harm's way without justification or approval from Congress. S.J.Res. 90: The primary sponsor is Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) among the cosponsors. No Unauthorized Force in Venezuela Act: Announced by Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) and cosponsored by Representatives Jake Auchincloss (D-MA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), and Eugene Vindman (D-VA). H.Con.Res. 51 Primary sponsor is Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Original cosponsors include Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX), Rep. Jesús "Chuy" García (D-IL), Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) At least 83 people have been killed in 21 U.S. military strikes on alleged drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean since the operations began in September 2025. The US Coast Guard was not used to intercept and validate these claims.
