I'm listening to Senator Lindsey Graham make racist comments to support Israel. He claims that "Radical Islam" wants to come and slit all Americans' throats. This is outright racism. The United States federal government is operating under the delusion that making us afraid of Muslims will keep you in power. Congress is making blatant racist comments for your own personal political enhancement. This is absurd. This is easily disputed by rational people but I don't see any rational people in the Senate besides Senator Bernie Sanders. As an older American I am deeply disturbed that all of the values that I thought our country stood for are now proven to be a charade. The United States doesn't protect democracy. We protect corporate power and colonialism. Millions of people around the world are living in desperate circumstances and dying because we pretend we know better. I support the Palestinians right to tell Israel that they don't want to live in an apartheid state anymore. I do not support the methods of Hamas but I do understand why they feel they were driven to desperation. Because the United States has used the power of corporate money to create a racist state that is killing indigenous people for their own sick reasons. Do not think I can support any of you as long as the federal government is party to Israel's ethnic cleansing. The latest massacre is proof that the United States is complicit with Israel in unrestrained killing and torture of Palestinians. The very actions of President Biden pretending to provide aid to Palestinians is actually a path for Israel to enter Gaza and kill innocent civilians, babies, children, women -all Palestinians are fodder for Israel's masochistic pogrom. It makes me sick to know that my country is capable of this kind of duplicity. I guess I should have known because every war the United States enters is fought for the corporations that own Congress and the president, but now the mask is off. There's no pretending anymore that any of you have any honor whatsoever. Everybody in Congress is serving their paycheck, not the best interests of the American people. Don't tell me you're going to do good things for me. I know that you will not, that you cannot, because you are paid to ignore my wishes and the needs of my family and my neighbors and my community. I only live for the day where you pretend to realize that you've been wrong all along. I know how long that will last but it's something.
