I am writing as your constituent to demand a tax code that prioritizes working families over the ultra-wealthy and profitable corporations.
As Congress debates tax permanency and the FY 2027 budget, I am directing you to take the following actions:
- End the Giveaway: I oppose any effort to make the 2017 tax cuts permanent for the top 1% and large corporations. These cuts have failed to "trickle down" and have instead ballooned the deficit while funding record stock buybacks and CEO bonuses.
- Tax Wealth, Not Just Work: I urge you to support a progressive taxation system—such as a Billionaire Minimum Income Tax—to ensure that those who have benefited most from our nation's infrastructure pay their fair share to maintain it.
- End Subsidies for Low-Wage Employers: It is fiscally irresponsible for taxpayers to subsidize the payroll of multi-billion dollar corporations. I support legislation that penalizes profitable companies whose full-time employees are forced to rely on federal assistance (SNAP/Medicaid) because they are not paid a living wage.
- Invest in the American People: Revenue generated from closing these loopholes must be reinvested into lowering the costs of healthcare, childcare, and housing for everyday Americans.
The tax code should be a tool for national prosperity, not a game for the elite. I will be watching your votes on these measures closely.
