I am writing to formally notify you of a serious violation on federal agency’s website. The following phrase was posted:
“The Radical Left are going to shut down the government and inflict massive pain on the American people unless they get their $1.5 trillion wish list of demands. The Trump administration wants to keep the government open for the American people.”
This statement directly contravenes the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees and agencies from engaging in partisan political activity or using federal resources for such purposes. It also fails to comply with the Plain Writing Act of 2010, which requires clear, impartial communication from federal entities.
Publishing divisive and overtly partisan language on a federal platform undermines public trust, violates legal standards, and erodes the integrity of official government communications. Such conduct is unacceptable, and I strongly condemn the individuals responsible for this breach. Immediate corrective action and review of site policies is necessary to prevent further violations.
