Protect Ukrainian Families Seeking Refuge in the U.S.

To: Sen. Grassley, Rep. Nunn, Sen. Ernst

From: A constituent in Des Moines, IA

December 15

I am writing as a concerned citizen to urge you to protect Ukrainian families who fled war and sought safety in the United States through legal channels. Many of these families followed the rules, yet they now face the threat of deportation. This nation has long stood for freedom, human rights, and the protection of those escaping violence. We must remain true to these principles and honor our commitments to our allies. Ensuring that Ukrainians who sought refuge legally are allowed to remain in safety reflects the values we claim to uphold. I ask that you support policies that keep legal sponsorship pathways open and protect these families from deportation. Your voice in Congress can make a real difference in safeguarding the lives and futures of those who have already endured unimaginable hardship. Thank you for your attention and your commitment to human dignity.
