Vote to save Medicaid

To: Sen. Blumenthal, Sen. Murphy

From: A verified voter in North Grosvenordale, CT

May 29

The House of Representatives has passed a reconciliation bill that includes massive cuts to Medicaid and will take health care services away from millions of people, including people with disabilities. The bill now heads to the Senate, where we have another chance to stop it. We must take action now. Medicaid is a lifeline for people with disabilities. It pays for mental health services and provides treatment for opioid use disorder. Millions of disabled people depend on Medicaid for services that allow them to live and work in their communities instead of in dehumanizing institutions. Medicaid allows direct care workers, predominantly women of color, to provide seniors and disabled people help with all aspects of daily living so they can be safe at home and live with dignity.
