Why Is the U.S. Allowing Qatar to Build an Air Force Base on American Soil?
To: Rep. Carter, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

What in the world is going on? Why is the United States of America — a sovereign nation with the strongest military on Earth — allowing Qatar to build an Air Force base on U.S. soil? Since when do we allow foreign governments to plant their military flags on American land? The U.S. does not have a single foreign military base within its borders — and for good reason. We are not a client state, a protectorate, or a staging ground for another nation’s armed forces.
So I ask you directly: Why now? Who approved this? What national interest is being served by handing over land, resources, and potential strategic control to a foreign power — especially one with a deeply complicated record on human rights, funding of extremist movements, and ties to regional instability?
Let’s be clear: Qatar hosting U.S. bases overseas is one thing. That’s a sovereign nation inviting U.S. presence for mutual defense. But this — allowing a foreign power to build and operate a base here — is unprecedented and unacceptable. It raises serious national security, intelligence, and sovereignty concerns. The American people deserve full transparency.
We want to know:
• Who authorized this agreement?
• What land is being used?
• What jurisdiction will apply on this base — U.S. or Qatari law?
• What oversight does Congress have, if any?
• And why is the American public only learning about this now?
This is not a small diplomatic courtesy — it’s a seismic shift in U.S. defense posture. The very idea of a foreign military base on U.S. soil is a red line that has never been crossed in our history. Congress owes it to every American to immediately hold hearings, release all documents, and halt construction or authorization until the full truth is laid bare.
We are not a rent-a-nation for foreign militaries. We are the United States of America. Our land, our skies, and our security are not for sale.
Enough secrecy. Enough quiet deals. The American people demand answers — now.
