VOTE NO ON H.B. 1375

To: Gov. Abbott, Sen. Blanco, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Moody

From: A constituent in El Paso, TX

July 6

This bill restricts free speech and infringes on the rights of Texans to access literature and media of their choosing. It would enable excessive government overreach by empowering the state to determine what content is permissible. A free society depends on the free exchange of ideas and expression, even if some find that expression objectionable. Censorship violates core constitutional principles and undermines intellectual freedom. I urge you to oppose this misguided legislation that threatens our fundamental liberties. Individuals, not the government, should decide what they read, view, and consume. Reject this unjustified intrusion into our personal freedoms.
