November 23

This proposed legislation raises grave concerns about due process and transparency. Granting the Secretary of the Treasury unchecked discretion to designate nonprofits as "terrorist supporting organizations" without providing full evidence or reasoning is a severe overreach that violates fundamental principles of fairness and accountability. Nonprofits accused of such serious allegations deserve the right to review the government's case against them and mount an adequate defense. Stripping organizations of their tax-exempt status through such an opaque process risks irrevocable damage to their operations, reputations, and ability to serve communities in need, even if wrongfully accused. I urge you to fiercely oppose any attempt to undermine constitutionally protected due process rights or enable arbitrary government action against law-abiding nonprofits. This provision must be amended or removed to preserve accountability and protect the vital work of the nonprofit sector.
