The administration is lying about the Camp As Sayliyah (CAS/DRC) issue. The approximately 1,100 Afghans at Camp As Sayliyah WERE brought there by the United States. These persons have NOT “failed vetting,”. Many are already vetter and approved. Others are PENDING, not denied. Nearly 400 are children! These are interpreters, special operators and immediate family members – ALL with direct ties to the U.S. mission.
A third-country relocation is NOT a responsible and voluntary solution.
The United States moved these individuals into custody through a system designed, authorized, and controlled BY the U.S. – don’t you recall??
Contractors executed U.S.-directed missions. The U.S. designed, authorized, and
continues to manage the system. This is us directing contractors; we ARE responsible and contractors are being paid with OUR tax dollars!
The current proposal to relocate these Afghan allies to the Democratic Republic of Congo is not an acceptable resettlement pathway. It is a policy pathway designed to fail, with refusal used to justify return to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
What are you going to do? I WANT to know – these are people we made commitments to in the name of the United States. How can you turn your back NOW!!??
I urge you to contact Shawn VanDiver, President and Board Chairman, #AfghanEvac if you want detailed FACTS.
And I EXPECT to know WHAT you plan to do. This is horrific and deserves immediate attention before anything happens to these allies!!
