The Trump administration’s refusal to release congressionally-approved Head Start funds is illegal and unacceptable. Head Start serves nearly 800,000 low-income children, providing essential education, meals, childcare, and developmental screenings. Withholding these funds puts vulnerable families at serious risk. The Government Accountability Office has confirmed that this action violates the law. Congress must act now to demand the release of all impounded funds and ensure strong, sustained Head Start funding in the FY2026 appropriations bill. There’s no smarter investment than early childhood education. Please defend Head Start and protect the future of our children.
