I write as a concerned constituent urging you to refuse to pass any federal budget on January 30 that includes funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or related federal immigration enforcement operations unless it includes significant, enforceable reforms and oversight protections. If funding for ICE is to be approved, it must be contingent on immediate policy changes that ensure constitutional rights are upheld and that federal age nts operate within strict bounds of accountability and transparency. I urge you to act with courage and integrity by insisting that enforcement funding be conditioned on real oversight and accountability measures. Anything less betrays the promise of justice and the rights of all Americans.
