Kristi Noem's nomination for Secretary of Homeland Security should be firmly rejected. Her complete lack of relevant experience and scandal-ridden record make her utterly unfit for this critical role overseeing national security. Noem has zero federal homeland security policy background and never served on the House Committee on Homeland Security during her time in Congress. Her tenure as South Dakota governor has been marred by ethics violations, lies about meeting world leaders, and abuses of taxpayer resources for personal and political purposes. She improperly intervened to help her daughter obtain a real estate license and repeatedly used the state airplane for trips blurring official duties with family events. Installing someone so unqualified, untrustworthy and extreme in this position would be reckless and dangerous. Noem's blind loyalty to Donald Trump should not override the crucial need for a Homeland Security chief with genuine expertise protecting Americans from threats like terrorism. Her confirmation would gut accountability, enable abuses of power, and prioritize partisan interests over public safety. I urge you to vote no on Noem's nomination and demand a qualified, principled nominee committed to upholding national security.
