Apparently one of the programs cut by the Trump administration was the distribution of sterile male screw worm flies to the southern part of South America. This program has been going on since the latter ‘60’s and cost about 8.5 million dollars per year. We have not had screw worm infestations in the US since the program became established. We are seeing cases pop up in the US and the current administration claims they are “on it” and will be developing facilities to produce the sterile male flies and that it will cost 8.5 BILLION a year to replace what the Trump administration cut because they thought it was wasteful spending and only served to help a foreign country. Let’s be clear, this incompetence came from the Trump administration, not Biden. Also, blaming Biden due to immigration is disingenuous because there was a bill that would have helped, but Donald Trump told Republicans to stop supporting it because he wanted to run on the issue. Shameful.
