I’m writing you today not because I believe you’ll change — quite the opposite. I’m writing because I want you to know I see you. I see what you’ve done. I see how you spin lies as “victories.” I see how you gaslight constituents with carefully crafted propaganda while voting to harm the very people who trusted you. You proudly celebrated your vote for the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” But let’s be clear — what you passed isn’t beautiful, & it wasn’t for the people. It’s a calculated attack on working families, the poor, the sick, & the elderly — all so you & your wealthy donors could get a bigger slice of the pie. You claimed this bill delivered the largest tax cut in history for middle-class Americans. In reality, the biggest benefits went to the top 1% & corporations. Working families got crumbs — & even those are temporary. Meanwhile, cuts for billionaires are permanent. You paid for it by slashing healthcare, housing, food aid, & public programs Hoosiers rely on. You claimed this bill would protect families from tax hikes. But families will still pay more — just not to the IRS. They’ll pay higher premiums, co-pays, & have fewer care options. Local governments will raise taxes or cut services to fill the holes you left. You didn’t protect us — you just passed the cost down. You said this bill strengthens assistance programs. That’s a lie. You voted to cut $900 billion from Medicaid, stripping care from 12–16 million Americans — kids, disabled people, working parents, even veterans. You made SNAP harder to access for families who already work. That’s not strength — it’s sabotage. You claimed it supports national security. But you threw billions at detention centers & surveillance while gutting food, shelter, & healthcare — the real safety nets. This wasn’t about protection. It was about cruelty & control. You said it expands affordable housing. No — you cut housing support & handed out weak tax breaks to developers. Renters & unhoused families got nothing but empty promises. You claimed it’d create jobs & boost innovation. But corporate tax breaks don’t create good jobs — they boost CEO pay & stock buybacks. Meanwhile, you gutted job training & protections for workers. & here’s what you didn’t mention: • Hoosiers with private insurance will pay more as hospitals shift costs. • Rural hospitals in Indiana may shut down. • Thousands of kids with ADHD, epilepsy, & chronic illness will lose care. • Bankruptcies, hunger, & homelessness will rise. • Public investment was gutted — just to please donors. I’m not writing to change your mind. I’m writing because I see you. You’re an embarrassment to public service. You don’t represent us — you exploit us. I’ll spend every breath making sure Hoosiers know who you are, how you vote, & who you really serve.
