Subject: It’s Time to Get Big Money Out of Politics and Overturn Citizens United I’m writing as a concerned citizen who believes our democracy is in urgent need of reform. It’s time to get big money out of politics and overturn the disastrous Citizens United decision. For too long, wealthy donors, corporate interests, and super PACs have drowned out the voices of everyday Americans. Citizens United v. FEC opened the floodgates to unlimited political spending, allowing a handful of powerful interests to effectively buy influence and shape public policy in their favor. This is not democracy—it’s legalized corruption. We need legislation and, ultimately, a constitutional amendment that restores transparency, limits corporate spending in elections, and ensures that our elected leaders are accountable to the people, not to the highest bidder. I urge you to support efforts to: 1. Pass the Democracy For All Amendment or similar legislation to reverse Citizens United. 2. Enact robust campaign finance reform, including public financing options. 3. Increase transparency in political spending and require full disclosure of donors. Our republic was never meant to be ruled by corporations or billionaires. It’s time to return power to the people and restore faith in our democratic institutions.
