Support Legislation to Redirect Board of Peace Funds to LIHEAP

To: Rep. Crane, Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego

From: A constituent in Kearny, AZ

March 27

I'm asking you to support Senator Catherine Cortez Masto's legislation redirecting $1 billion from Trump's Board of Peace to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. With the Iran conflict driving energy costs through the roof and US inflation potentially hitting 4%, American families need help paying their heating bills right now. The State Department just transferred $1.25 billion to this new Board of Peace by raiding funds meant for international disaster assistance and peacekeeping. There's zero transparency about how this organization invests its money, and Trump has pledged $10 billion total while families here are struggling. The Philippines has declared a national energy emergency. South Korea is asking citizens to take shorter showers. Americans shouldn't be left behind while billions flow to an opaque organization with no accountability. LIHEAP funding would provide immediate, measurable relief to low-income households facing skyrocketing energy bills. That's a concrete investment in Americans who need it, not a blank check to an organization that won't explain where the money goes.
