USPS - Failure

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the United States Postal Service (USPS) delivery service in my area, particularly with the delivery that was scheduled to occur today, but did not. Earlier today, I received a successful delivery from Amazon, which arrived without issue despite my road being closed for repaving. The Amazon delivery driver parked approximately half a block away and used a trolley to bring my packages to my door. However, about 20 minutes later, the USPS made an attempt to deliver a package, but failed. Unlike Amazon, USPS refused to complete the delivery due to the road closure, citing it as the reason for their inability to access the street. What is most frustrating is that the USPS has a well-known motto: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Yet, in this instance, it seems the inconvenience of a temporary road closure was enough to prevent the delivery. If Amazon, a private company, can find a way to deliver despite minor obstacles, I believe that the USPS, a service relied upon by millions of Americans, should hold itself to at least the same standard. As my elected representative, I urge you to advocate for reforms or improvements within the USPS to ensure that essential postal services are carried out with greater reliability and commitment. The postal service plays a vital role in our communities, and it is disappointing to see this type of service failure when it should be a model of dependability. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to any updates or actions you can take to address the situation.
