Stephen Miller Is Unfit for National Security Role

To: Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall, Rep. Estes

From: A constituent in Wichita, KS

May 5

I am writing to express strong opposition to the appointment of Stephen Miller as National Security Advisor. Miller’s record of promoting extreme, divisive policies makes him unfit for a role that demands sound judgment, balance, and a commitment to democratic values. Miller was the chief architect of the Trump administration’s most controversial immigration policies, including the travel ban targeting Muslim-majority countries and the family separation policy at the border. These actions were condemned by human rights groups and federal courts alike. Leaked emails also revealed Miller’s promotion of white nationalist literature—raising serious concerns about his worldview and decision-making. National security should not be politicized or driven by ideology. This role requires someone who can lead with credibility, uphold the law, and defend the safety of all Americans. Miller’s history disqualifies him from that responsibility. I urge you to oppose this appointment and demand a nominee who reflects the best of American values—not the worst of its political extremes.
