I am writing as a constituent to urge you to support impeachment proceedings against President Donald J. Trump. His conduct represents a sustained pattern of abuse of power that threatens our economy, our civil liberties, and the constitutional limits of the presidency.
First, the President’s illegal and indiscriminate use of tariffs has severely damaged the U.S. economy. These actions have destabilized markets, driven up costs for American families, and harmed farmers and manufacturers, all while bypassing you, the Congress, in setting trade policy. This economic sabotage reflects not strategy, but lawlessness.
Second, President Trump has, in just 1 year, pushed the United States into a horrific, dystopian police state. Masked, Federal agents are going door-to-door in cities that Donal Trump chooses, and kidnapping anyone the want without a warrant. Citizens or not, ICE is operating as America's Gestapo. This is not merely a threat to our Democracy, it is actively destroying it today.
Third, Donald Trump has, in the last year, gravely deteriorated America's National Security, by severing trust between us and our NATO and EU allies. He's illegally invaded Venezuela, transparently to steal their oil and give the proceeds to his wealthy donors. He continually threatens to invade Cuba, Canada, and now Greenland, for reasons that no one can fathom, but one must assume furthers his own personal enrichment.
Fourth, and most chilling, the President has repeatedly weaponizes the Department of Justice as a personal instrument of retribution. From Eric Adams, to James Comey, Mark Kelly, and Jack Smith, It's clear that Donal Trump has full control to direct the DOJ to investigate his enemies, and to ignore his allies, with zero regard for the rule of law.
Impeachment is not a partisan act—it is your constitutional duty. It is the most clear and important of any duty given to your office. And there is no question that this is the time to use it. I urge you to act decisively to defend democratic norms, restore accountability, and uphold your oath to the Constitution.
